Hi Dive Families, 

Welcome to our first full week of practice for the 2026 CH Dive season! This is the first of the weekly updates you will receive this season. I aim to send them out on Sundays with info for the week, but I'm a little late this week.

Please read through as there is a lot of info about upcoming events, including a breakdown of our first (and most fun!!) B Meet of the season: Boys vs Girls and Rookie Volunteer Meet!

Upcoming Dates:

Tomorrow (Tuesday, 6/2) Swim Suit Try-on 4:00-6:30 in the cabana 

• Reminder that divers must be dry to suits on! 

Next Monday, 6/15 - Practice Time Change - 4:00-5:30 All Divers

• The swim team will host its first home meet. We will move to one practice to accommodate the swim meet start time. Please come for any portion of the practice that works for your schedule. Parents may need to hang out in the grassy area or near the open end of the pool because the swim team will be setting up for the meet on the pool deck.

Thursday, 6/18 Boys vs Girls Rookie Volunteer Meet & Judging Clinic

• An annual favorite! The Boys take on the Girls in our first B Meet of the season. All divers are welcome and encouraged to participate.
  • Each diver will compete with 2 dives - one front entry and one optional. All divers, new and experienced, can access this meet! The coaches will help your diver determine his/her dives. Many of our littlest divers will be doing front jumps. :)
• Attention Rookie Volunteers (also Rusty Volunteers & Veteran Volunteers): New to the dive team? Not new but rusty after 10 months off? Want to brush up on your table-worker skills or try out announcing? Tired of sitting on the sidelines and want to try your hand at judging? This meet is for YOU! It's a great opportunity to try out a new volunteer position with NO pressure! Since it's just our team participating, and the children aren't diving for individual awards, it's low-stakes. We will have veteran volunteers in each position to show you the ropes. 
• Judging Mini-Clinic for any and all parents interested in possibly judging at some point this season or who just want to know how the divers are scored will take place immediately before the meet so that you can learn about judging and then practice. Our very own veteran judges Allen Brabender and Karl Rothman will lead the 30 minute clinic to give you the basics. 
• Schedule for the Meet: 
  • 5:00-6:00 All divers warm up
  • 6:00-6:30 Judging Mini-clinic on the pool deck
  • 6:30-8ish Boys vs Girls Meet (including Rookie Volunteers)
• Please sign up here for any volunteer position that sounds interesting to you. 
• There will be CH Dive swag for any and all volunteers at this special event! 

Season Volunteer Info

Our volunteer slots are now open for the season! 

• Reminder, each family is expected to volunteer for a minimum of 3 volunteer slots.

• If you are a veteran family, please sign up for meet positions and save social positions for new families or those with little ones. 

• If your diver dove in A Meets last year, please sign up to work A meets.

• To sign up, see the Meets & Events Calendar and click on "Job Signup" next to an event to see what is available and sign up. 
• If you're new and not ready to sign up for a random job, please see the volunteer descriptions here and then consider signing up to try a job at the Boys vs Girls Rookie Volunteer Meet (see description above). Also feel free to talk to Kate or Ashley on the pool deck during practice, or shoot us an email ([email protected]) if you have any questions.
