Friday Dive Update

July 7th

Hi Everyone, 

I want to start by saying congrats to all of our divers who dove in the B Meet against Kent Gardens last night. It was fun to watch everyone compete - many for the first time! You all did great and should be very proud of yourselves! 

Big shout out to our coaches who braved sweltering temps to enthusiastically support our kids in our back-to-back meets this week! 

Finally, a huge thank you to our parents who stepped up to volunteer this week. It was a busy one, and I appreciate that so many of you pitched right in. 

Now for logistics and updates for the coming week: 

  • Secret Dive Buddy sheets are due by 7pm tonight in the Jarvis dive folder. 
    • Assigned buddy sheets will be available by 1:00pm tomorrow in your family dive folder. 
    • First treat (Favorite Cookie!) should be delivered to the cabana in a bag with your buddy's name on it by Monday at noon.

  • T-shirts - If your child does not yet have his/her t-shirt, please pick it up in the dive drawer that your folder is in by the front desk. Also, check folders for ribbons while you are there! 
  • Picture Day - Tuesday (7/11)
    • We're still waiting on the timing of the team photo, but we will be holding morning practices. We'll get you the details ASAP! 
  • A Meet on Tuesday (7/11) at Greenbriar 
    • CH Warm-ups begin at 5:00pm. More details to follow. 
    • We need two more judges for the meet! Please sign up if you have an A Meet diver and have experience judging. 
  • Dinner and Dive on Wednesday (7/12) - Mookie's BBQ
    • Always a fan favorite! Please see the sign up genius below.
    • Urgent: We need a volunteer to purchase the food. Our purchaser will now be at a swim meet that night, so we need someone to sub in. Without food, there's no dinner at Dinner & Dive! Please sign up if you are able!
  • B Meet on Thursday (7/13) at Cardinal Hill. 
    • CH Warm-ups begin at 4:00pm. More details to follow. 
    • We need an announcer and someone to set up and take down the sound system. Please sign up if you are able!
  • B Meet Attendance - If your diver is planning to dive in a B Meet, please plan to have him/her at the pool by 4:00 for a home meet and by 5:00 for an away meet. It is important both that your diver has time to warm up prior to the meet and that the coaches and team reps know exactly who will be diving that night so that we have time to make any adjustments to meet sheets. If the diver is not in attendance for warm-ups, his or her meet sheet will be pulled and the diver will not be able to participate in the meet. If you have extenuating circumstances, and your child is not able to be there at the start of warm-ups but plans to dive, please reach out to Megan or myself prior to the start of warm-ups. 
  • Divisionals and Crackerjack Meets: 
    • Look for more information coming about both meets in the next couple of days.
      • Crackerjack Developmental Meet - Sunday, July 16 at Ravensworth Farm Pool
      • Divisionals - Sunday, July 23 at Cardinal Hill
