Dear Dive Parents,
Happy holidays! We are excited to announce a new session of dive practices at Tuckahoe, starting in January 2020! Here’s the short version, with full details below.
Location: Tuckahoe Rec Club, 1814 Great Falls Street, McLean
We welcome:
- Tuckahoe members and non-members
- All skill levels - including brand-new divers.
- Divers who aren’t able to commit to the schedule of a club team but still want to dive between summers
Times:
- Friday evening (6-7 pm, 7-8 pm). Coach: Tor Strom
- Saturday afternoon (1-2 pm, 2-3 pm) Coach: Kasey Kinney
- Sunday afternoon (1-2, 2-3 pm) Coach: Miah Fisher/Haley Fisher
Dates: Starting January 10 through May 31, with some exceptions for spring break and Memorial Day weekend.

- 5 practice pack: $200
- 10 practice pack: $375
AAU REGISTRATION. Because of the equipment we use, everyone who participates in this practice must register for AAU. If you are already a member, look up your Member ID. If not see below for details to register.

We are excited to announce our 2020 dive practices at Tuckahoe!
In response to feedback, we have modified practice times/dates to make it more convenient for your schedules. As always, all divers are welcome - all experience levels - Tuckahoe members and non-members alike!
All scheduling and payments are online allowing registration, coach availability, and equipment availability to update in real time.
LOCATION: Tuckahoe Recreation Club, 1814 Great Falls St, McLean, VA 22101

EQUIPMENT & AAU
We currently have a 1M board indoors and a portable dive station. These allow for different stations during practice as well as different options for lessons. There are several exciting efforts underway as well to add equipment and capacity.
With advanced dive training equipment comes additional requirements/insurance. As such, all of these dive activities fall under the AAU ( Amateur Athletics Union of the United States ), and all divers must belong to AAU or join prior to registering.
CANCELLATIONS
We understand that you may have to miss due to schedules or illnesses.
Please let us know ahead of time if/when you expect to miss a practice - this may allow another diver the opportunity join the practice. To encourage giving us notice, divers that let us know they are going to miss a practice by at least the day before will be allowed to make-up the lesson.
If you miss a practice or lesson without giving us notice the day before or sooner, you will not receive a refund for the lesson and will not be allowed to make-up the practice.
MAKE-UPS
Make-ups for dive practices may be done during another dive practice time if spots are available - and must be coordinated ahead of time. Also, because we do our best to keep the coach to diver ratio at 1:6, a coach may have to regretfully turn away a diver who has not coordinated a make-up in advance.
