CH Dive Team: Week #3 Update

Afternoon practices continue after school through Thursday. We move to our morning schedule this FRIDAY, JUNE 14th!

Normally in summer our 12 and Under Divers come to the first practice (9:15-10:15) and our Divers 13+ come to the second practice (10:15-11:15). This year, however, I'm looking for families with younger divers who would be interested in switching to the second practice (10:15-11:15). Reasoning is that of our 54 registered divers, 46 are 12 and Under! If your diver is 12 and Under and would like to switch to the 2nd morning practice slot of 10:15-11:15am, please message me. I want to make sure the practices are somewhat even so the divers all get ample time on the boards.

This is the calm before the real start of the season. Next week things begin in earnest with our first Learn a New Dive Night/Dinner and Dive Potluck & our 3rd Annual Boys vs Girls Meet (reigning champions: Boys).

Judges Desperately Needed: Many of you have already signed up to help at our upcoming meets and events. Thank you! Reminder that each family is required to complete 3 jobs over the course of the season. The one area we are very short on is judges. All meets are judged by parent volunteers and each meet requires 5 judges. We only have a handful of parents who actively volunteer as judges. I know it can be very intimidating. The good news is I've posted some judging videos on the CH Dive website. There are also two free judging clinics being offered by the NVSL- one on Sunday, June 23rd and one on Wednesday, June 26th. Anyone is eligible to attend.

If you have an interest in trying out judging, I encourage you to sign up to judge our Boys vs Girls meet next Thursday. One of the reasons we started the Boys vs Girls Meet was to give parents the chance to try out new volunteer roles in a low key environment. It is only our team diving, and there will be plenty of people on hand to give guidance and support. Thanks for your consideration!
